What’s On Your Night Stand?

I’m a bit of a busy body or a nosy parker and I love posts to do with empties, makeup collection storage, showers, and basically stuff that shows “how you live” through “what you have”.

So today’s beauty debate question is, “What’s on your night stand?”

You’ll also be surprised, as I was, to know that if you type in “beauty products night stand” on Google, you would see the top link as an advice article that gives tips on what beauty products to carry with you on a one-night stand (I hope this doesn’t result in a deluge of spammy comments, but I couldn’t resist!).

On my bedside, I always have hand cream, lip balm, cuticle oil, my iPad and a hair tie.

Pictured above is the excellent Soap & Glory Hand Food which I have already squeezed the very last bit out. It smells like Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle and hydrates the hands wonderfully without leaving a greasy residue.

I’m halfway through The Body Shop’s Chocomania lip balm. While the chocolate scent is long gone, I’m still enjoying the shea butter fragrance it exudes.

Next, I got Essie’s Apricot Cuticle Oil on impulse (it was 1800JPY, USD22) — it was probably one of those days when I was bored or restless for something new to try — and it’s not bad but I’m beginning to wonder if a good hand cream is all you need for your cuticles as well.

I cannot live without my iPad by my futon because I’m a bit of a light sleeper and insomniac so while Mr BB drifts off into dreamland, I might watch YouTube videos or read blogs to entertain myself in the dark. I would prefer a book because that’s ultimately more relaxing but it’s just impossible to read without the lights on.

Finally, I have a hair tie for when I get up in the morning. I prefer to make breakfast and then shower or wash my face and my long hair can get in the way when whipping up food in the kitchen.

I also have my iPhone, too, though not pictured above, because I use it as my alarm if I need to get up early, but even if I don’t set it, I like to know the time when I open my eyes.

Anyway, from the looks of my night stand, I’m quite a minimalist, I think, and I’ve definitely got issues with dry hands and lips. The iPad certainly says a lot about my difficulties in sleeping well and I think I should try and make a concerted effort to remedy that. Oh, I forgot about the box of tissues! I sometimes struggle with hay fever or sinusitis so I might need these in the middle of the night or in the morning.

Now, how about you, dear reader, what’s on your night stand? What do you think it says about you?
